My dream job

Filed under: Anna's Blog posts :) on Monday, April 23rd, 2012 by | No Comments

My dream job is to do something that makes a big difference like a peace corp worker or a missionary. I know that I love helping people and that’s what I want to do with my life. I want to be able to say “I Helped those who needed help.” or even “I brought God to places that needed hope and knowledge about God the most.” I know I’m supposed to help. I’m supposed to be something most people would be to scared to do something that makes a impact on the world.

Easter/Spring Break

Filed under: Anna's Blog posts :) on Monday, April 23rd, 2012 by | No Comments

My spring break was fun. I got the pins out of my hand. I also got to play with my little brother and his friend Liam. They are into pirates and That’s what we played Liam was the captain, Nathan was the crew, and I was the prisoner. (They were watching pirates of the Caribbean) I was the lucky one who went to play with them. I had fun though. Brothers are pains but who knows how long they’ll be around. On Easter day I got woken up a half hour earlier then I needed to. I did not appreciate that. I had a good time with my family which is the point of Easter. My friends are like my family. We always have good times and we create memories while we can.

ONLY A GRANDMOTHER WOULD KNOW…

~A Cup of Tea ~

One day my Grandma was out, and my Grandpa was in charge of me.
I was maybe 2 1/2 years old. Someone had given me a little ‘tea set’ as a gift, and it was one of my favorite toys.
Grandpa was in the living room engrossed in the evening news when I brought him a little cup of ‘tea’, which was just water. After several cups of tea and lots of praise for such yummy tea, my Grandma came home.
My Grandpa made her wait in the living room to watch me bring him a cup of tea, because it was ‘just the cutest thing!’ Grandma waited, and sure enough, here I came down the hall with a cup of tea for Grandpa, and she watched him drink it up.
Then she said, (as only a grandma would know), “‘Did it ever occur to you that the only place she can reach to get water is the toilet?”

Secrets of my Hollywood life: On location
By: Jen Calotonita

This month for our lit. project I am doing a book review on Secrets of my Hollywood life. This book is about a girl named Kaitlin Burke. Have you every wondered what would happen if you were famous? Or is being famous really all that great? Well this book is about being a celebrity and it’s “secrets”.

The story begins when Kaitlin wakes up after working after midnight. she got three hours of sleep. Kaitlin texts her best friend Liz about meeting for supper, when they get stuck on the freeway. Kaitlin has an interview with teen people. The interview is at Fred Segal’s. Which is a store. Kaitlin sees things that she likes and she says it out loud and she gets it for free because she’s a big star.

When she meets Liz for supper and suggests that Kaitlin should pull a Houdini as a joke but Kaitlin takes it seriously and talks Liz her family and her manager during the off key premiere so they wouldn’t kill her. The next morning her stylists help her create a new her with a new name, Rachel. When she goes to school she’s slowed by the principal. The principal is a huge F.A. fanatic. F.A. stands for family affair, a TV show she works for, By playing Sam.

She’s late for class and the teacher doesn’t like her at all. She gets teased by a Jock named Austin. She doesn’t like him but also feels attracted to him oddly. His girlfriend Lauren is mean and out to get “Rachel”.

Soon Rachel/Kaitlin hears that they want to have Her come to a dance to talk about F.A. When she shouts no everyone looks at her then she laughs and says “She’s busy She won’t have time for us.”
Then they invite her enemy Sky Mackenzie her co-star Sara.

Sky is out to ruin Kaitlin. At the dance Sky reveals her secret and her date Austin is angry he wasn’t told about that. Kaitlin runs out of the dance. Kaitlin locks herself in her room at home. She refuses to come out when she hears that people think that she wants to be an ordinary girl. Kaitlin gets persuaded to do an interview with a tabloid. She opens up and tells the truth about why she went and how she was sorry that she hurt people she didn’t want to. In the end every things back to normal

my town

I live in a small Iowa town. It’s near Orange City. My town has three parks. One town park, one nature park, and one baseball/softball park. My favorite one is the nature park. My brothers and friends go down there often. They fish while I take pictures or write.
In the summer we go to the swimming pool or go to Casey’s.
If you go to Casey’s you would get ice cream or candy then you’d go to the nature park to hang out and have fun. Sometimes you grab someone and toss them in the pond.
If you go to the pool you’ll find it about half full. we have the only high dive in the area. Lots of people prefer water slides but we like jumping from high places.
I go to a Catholic church called St. Mary’s. Our priest is a nice man. He learned our names and attempts to be friendly. our last priest was trying to be nice but he ended up not liked very much.
I go to an impact group at the reformed church. Impact started in Romania. In impact we play games, discuss problems, and grow in our faith.
Everyone is accepting and kind where we live. People wave at you on the streets and they smile at people they’ve never met before. I like living in a small town. I would miss friendly people and being able to walk in the middle in the street.

Photo album/genius hour

For genius hour on Friday I made a photo album. I used a hot glue gun, fabric paint, plain photo album, and bead thingies (I don’t know the name of it). here are the steps.

First I decorated it. you may have a different idea than me so just do you’re own thing

second I put the pictures in the album sorted by date, month, and age.

third I used fabric paint and wrote Faith, Hope, Love, and Grace.

I had some spare time left over so I wrote a song. I’m still working on my song but it’s almost done I need to add the notes still.

Youth group/ impact

Last night I went to youth group well actually it’s called impact. The leaders planed a good evening. First we talked and played games until every one arrived. My friend Danika and I talked about school. we just catch up. Then we played air hockey and carpet ball loser would play Carrie and the loser would keep switching.
When everyone was there we did a trust thing were one person caught and the other fell into the one who was supposed to catch them. Sadly I was the one who was supposed to fall. I have trust issues I guess. I did it though and I was ecstatic. I did it and I didn’t get hurt. Then I was in the middle of the circle and my group pushed me in a circle. We did it to pretty much everyone.
The we watched veggie tales “Hero’s of the Bible.” We watched Esther. Then we talked about doing whats right even when no one is watching.
I think God,Jesus, and the church is very important. To me any ways. I love how God helped me through all the hard times in my life. God is very important to me. When I get older I will help other people realize God is there. I know there are people who don’t believe in God but I know what it’s like. It was hard and complicated. I felt a hole in my life. That’s the way I am so please don’t hold it against me. I don’t think that I uphold a good Christian image. I try. It’s what’s important. I want to be a missionary or work for peace corp. It would suit me the best.
